Mr. President,
Thailand welcomes the French Delegation to the third UPR cycle.
We commend France’s efforts to improve corporate accountability through the adoption of the 2017 Act imposing French companies to prevent human rights impacts in countries where French business operate and the National Plan of Action for the implementation of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. We recommend France to effectively implement the 2017 Act as well as the National Plan of Action on Business and Human Rights and ensure that obligations under the said 2017 Act are duly respected by French companies operating overseas.
Thailand also recommends France to take all necessary steps to combat racial prejudice and racial violence, especially against foreign and migrant women and children, as well as to ensure their rights, access to basic services and integration in the host society.
I thank you, Mr. President.
