Thailand at the 9th Pledging Conference of the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention on 1 March 2024

Thailand, together with States Parties of the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention (APMBC), International Organizations and other mine actors, demonstrated its solidarity and determination to fulfill its commitment to the Convention at the 9th Pledging Conference on 1st March 2024.

Thailand has contributed 10,000 Swiss Francs since 2016 to the Implementation Support Unit (ISU). This year, Thailand announced that it will continue this commitment by contributing 10,000 Swiss Francs to ensure its long-term financial stability and support its constructive and meaningful work in assisting State Parties to fulfill their obligations under the Convention. This will further contribute to the work of the Convention which entered into force on 1 March 1999.

At the Conference, State Parties, including Japan, Norway and United Kingdom also pledged their commitment to provide financial contribution to the ISU, the Sponsorship Programme, the Cooperation and Assistance Fund and other mine activities, including mine risk education, destruction of stockpiles, mine clearance and victim assistance.
