Mr. President,

Thailand welcomes the delegation of Mexico to the third cycle of the UPR.

Thailand welcomes the progress made in the implementation of Mexico’s National Human Rights Program and specific programs on the advancement and inclusion of persons with disabilities, equality of opportunities and non-discrimination against women, and combating human trafficking.

Thailand applauds the actions taken by Mexico to safeguard the rights of migrants, including the amendments to the migration law, which enhance the protection of migrant children and women.

Thailand acknowledges Mexico’s efforts to address business-related human rights challenges, in line with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.

Thailand recommends the following for Mexico’s consideration:

First, finalize and adopt the National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights in consultation with relevant stakeholders.

Second, strengthen efforts to improve the quality of and access to education, especially for vulnerable children.

We wish Mexico every success in this UPR.

Thank you.
