On 6 February 2023, H.E. Mrs. Suphatra Srimaitreephithak, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to the UN Office and other International Organizations in Geneva, delivered remarks at the high-level opening session of the Workshop on Promoting and Protecting Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ESCRs) within the Context of Addressing Inequalities in the Recovery from the COVID-19 Pandemic.

The Workshop was organized pursuant to HRC resolution 49/19 and focused on identifying recommendations and proposals on how OHCHR and HRC can assist in the promotion and protection of ESCRs.

Amb. Srimaitreephithak stressed ESCRs’ importance and highlighted Thailand’s efforts to advance ESCRs, including by advancing Universal Health Coverage for all and creating resilience at the grassroot level.  She also encouraged partnership on technical cooperation between States and with other development partners as driver of UPR and SDGs implementation.  See statement below.
