Mr. President,

Thailand welcomes the delegation of Nigeria to the third UPR cycle. We commend efforts to build a better human rights culture in the country through the adoption of the second National Action Plan for the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights and the finalization of the National Action Plan on Human Rights and Business.

Thailand recommends Nigeria to intensify efforts to combat gender-based violence, especially through the full implementation of the Violence against Persons Prohibition Act of 2015 at the federal, state and local levels.

We also recommend Nigeria to continue the measures to promote rule of law and good governance, including through further implementing the National Anti-Corruption Strategy.
