On Wednesday 5 March 2025, H.E. Ms. Pratana Disyatat, Ambassador and Deputy Permanent Representative, delivered opening remarks at the World Health Organization (WHO) Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Partners Forum 2025: “Sustainable Partnerships and Financing to Accelerate National and Global Responses to AMR” at the WHO headquarters, congratulating all participants for their achievements on AMR-related work throughout 2024.

Thailand, as the current facilitator for the Group of Friends on AMR, stressed the importance of resource mobilisation, action-oriented goals, implementation of National Action Plans and further work with the Quadripartite, other relevant organizations and the civil society.

Thailand led the adoption of the World Health Assembly (WHA) Resolution on “Antimicrobial Resistance: accelerating national and global responses” during the 77th WHA last year, outlining strategic and operational priorities for 2025–35 which provided a basis for the agreement on the Political Declaration at the UN General Assembly High-Level Meeting on AMR on 26 September 2024 at the UN headquarters in New York.
