On 3 March 2025, H.E. Ms. Pratana Disyatat, Ambassador and Deputy Permanent Representative, participated in the annual High-Level World Wildlife Day United Nations celebration and delivered a statement on how Thailand is investing in people and planet to preserve and promote a healthy wildlife and ecosystem as well as reiterated Thailand's commitment in exploring innovative financial initiatives for wildlife conservation with all stakeholders.

Thailand was instrumental in proposing the UNGA Resolution to mark this important day. And in 2014, Thailand, Germany and CITES co-hosted the first celebration of World Wildlife Day at the UN headquarters in New York.
